FIVE DAY SERIES OF INSPIRATION

Our minister, Dr. Joe D. Gibbs, Sr. will be preaching during this Five Day Series of Inspiration at the Lubbock Street Church of Christ, July 30 - August 3, 2011.  The series will begin with a Gospel Songfest on Saturday, July 30th and Dr. Gibbs will preach Sunday, July 31st through Wednesday, August 3rd.  For information on the groups appearing on the musical, see the flyer on the bulletin board.  Rodney Foster is the local minister.

 

BIBLE SCHOOL TEACHERS NEEDED  

Beginning the first Sunday in September, we will no longer have combined classes and we are in need of teachers for all ages.  If you can assist us by teaching a class Sunday mornings and or on Wednesday nights, please give your name to D. L. Walker, Jr. or to Helen Curtis today.  We will be ordering literature soon and will notify the teachers by August 7th of their assignments.  Your cooperation is appreciation.

FIRST SUNDAY SINGING     

The Fellowship Singing will be held next Sunday, August 7th at the West Mansfield Church of Christ.  Clifton Douglas is the host minister.

 

NATIONAL APPRECIATION CONFERENCE

The schedule for all the NAF activities has been set.  On Saturday night, September 17th the musical will be held at the Pantego Lion's Club, 3535 Marathon Street; Pantego, TX starting at 4:00 p.m.  Directions and maps will be furnished later.  Sunday morning service will be here at the SIX and we will begin at 9:00 a.m.  The afternoon program on Sunday, September 18th will be held at the Lion's Club, 6013 Craig Street, Fort Worth, TX.  You still have time to get an ad in the souvenir book or to be a patron.  Ad prices are as follows:  whole pages, $200; half pages, $100; quarter pages $75 and business cards are $25.  We will need the ads by August 12th.  Your cooperation is appreciated.

 

CRUSADE RALLY

There will be a rally tonight at the Lake Como Church of Christ to raise funds for and to spur interest in the National Crusade that is being held in Washington, DC August 27th through September 1st.  Each congregation is encouraged to have a singing group, a song leader or a motivational speaker.  John Dansby of Shreveport, LA will be the principal speaker.  The financial goal for the evening is $5000.00.

 

HOMECOMINGS

The Greenville Ave. Church of Christ in Richardson, TX will have its annual homecoming services Sunday, August 7th with dinner being served from 12:30 p.m. until 2:15 p.m.  The afternoon service will begin at 2:30 p.m. and this will mark the beginning of their gospel meeting with Dr. Willie F. Washington from Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Services, Monday-Thursday at 7:00 p.m.  Dinner will be served each night from 5:00 p.m. until 6:45 p.m.  Shelton Gibbs, III is the host minister.

 

Ian Nickerson will be engaged in a gospel meeting at the Cliff View Church of Christ in Dallas, TX August 14th - August 17th.  Services will begin nightly at 7:00 p.m.  Homecoming services are Sunday, August 14th and dinner will be served from 12:00-2:00 p.m.  The afternoon fellowship service will begin at 2:30 p.m.

 

ELEVENTH ANNUAL WOMEN'S CONFERENCE

The Weekend activities of the Annual Women's Conference at the Central Pointe' Church of Christ will begin Friday evening, August 12th with a dinner from 6:00-6:45.  At 7:00 p.m. Dr. Mark Thompson of Detroit, MI will speak on the theme, "When Peace Flows Like A River".  The conference will continue on Saturday with breakfast at 8:00 a.m. followed by several sessions.  Following the sessions, Dr. Thompson will again speak after which lunch will be served.  For session titles, see the bulletin board.

 

HOSPITALIZED

Willie Josey is currently in Baylor All Saints Building C, Room 312.  Let us pray for him, and check on him as often as possible.

 

BEREAVEMENT NOTICES

Rivers Bernard Moss, the uncle of Patricia Thomas was memorialized last Friday, July 29th in Gracey, KY.  Let us pray for the Moss and Thomas Families.  Bessie Reed, the aunt of Earline Dudley and Demerise Davis passed away Wednesday morning, July 27th at the age of 110.  At the time of this writing, no funeral arrangements had been made.  Let us keep all of the related families in our prayers.
