Dr. Gibbs was a pillar of strength to the church and community as well as his family. He was a caretaker for his Dad, Mom, brother and nephews. Whatever he had, they had. Forty-eight years ago this same principle was used in the growth of Stop Six Church of Christ. This church started out with 20 members and Dr. Gibbs' salary was whatever they raised. He conducted meetings throughout the country and used the money he received to pay the church bills. He and his family lived off of what was left, and by the grace of God. the church is solvent and the membership is now in the hundreds. He left us an example of keeping the church "IN THE BLACK"! He paid cash for everything!
