HOMECOMING IN MEXIA, TX

Joe D. Gibbs, Jr.  will be the homecoming speaker today in Mexia, TX.  The service will begin at 2:30 p.m. and Dinner will be served BEFORE and AFTER the afternoon service.  Thomas C. Gilmore, Jr. is the host minister and the father of our own, Phillip Gilmore.

 

GOSPEL MEETING AT CLIFFVIEW

Jonathan Morrison, minister of the Cedar Crest Church of Christ will preach in a gospel meeting at the Cliff View Congregation, August 15 - 18, 2010.  Dinner will be served Monday through Wednesday night from 6:00 - 6:45 p.m.  Services will begin each night at 7:00 p.m.

 

GOSPEL MEETING IN EVERMAN

Ministerial students from Southwestern Christian College will be preaching in a gospel meeting at the Everman Church of Christ, August 22- 25, 2010.  There will be an afternoon service, Sunday, August 22nd at 2:30 p.m.  All singing groups are invited.  Services Monday - Wednesday will begin at 7:00 p.m.  Alonza Winston is the local minister.

 

DOOR KNOCKING CAMPAIGN

We will meet again to go door knocking on Saturday morning, August 28, 2010 at 10:00 a.m.  The campaign will only be an hour long and we ask as many as possible to meet us here at the building by 9:45 a.m.  If you cannot walk, you can participate by giving a donation.  See Joe D. Gibbs, Jr. for additional information.

BEREAVEMENT NOTICE

George Geiger, the father of Elcid Geiger, passed last week in Chicago, IL and at the time of this writing, no arrangements had been made.  Let us keep the Geiger family in our prayers.

 

COLOR DAY

On the last Sunday in September, September 26th we are asking ALL sisters to wear green. If you do not have a green dress or green suit a green scarf, green jewelry, corsage or other green accent will be sufficient. This color will symbolize Peace.

Women's Fellowship Ministry Leader

 

ATTENTION ALL SISTERS

The Women's Fellowship is sponsoring a trip to Glen Rose, TX to see the musical drama, THE PROMISE on Friday evening, September 17, 2010.  This musical depicts the life of Christ and all of the reviews have rated this presentation as outstanding. We will have a bus so we can all travel together and the price for the bus trip and cost of the ticket is $35.00.  The bus will leave Stop Six at 5:30 p.m.

 

We need you to start signing up today if you are interested in going. Give your name to Patricia Thomas or Joan Norris. All money has to be in by Sunday, September 5.
